Delta Tech Commences Large Bio-Pharmaceutical Passivation Project
Delta Tech Service recently commenced high purity cleaning and passivation services for a large Greenfield pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. The plant is currently under construction to meet their growing demand for production of human vaccinations.
After months of pre-project planning on submittals, jobwalks, and procedure design, on October 10th, 2016, the project kicked off supported by the El Segundo crew consisting of Mike Dalglish (Project Manager), Tony Bouffard (Supervisor), Mario Pech and Brandon Arvizu (Service Engineers), and Danny Linares (Service Tech).
Delta Tech’s scope of work consisted of pre-operational cleaning and passivation of the clean utility systems: Water for Injection (WFI), Feedwater, Pure Steam, Methanol, Process, and Chloroform piping. Also included was a 12,000 gallon and 8,000 gallon electropolished WFI and Feedwater storage tank.
Despite many schedule constraints and mechanical design changes, not to mention coordination with the 16 other trades working onsite, Delta Tech successfully completed passivation on the largest of the systems, the Water for Injection Loops. The 4 phase, 16-day project is currently slated for completion mid November 16.
